Coco for the first time and although I wasn t expecting to like the film, I enjoyed it It s not one of my favourite films and I found it a little dark in places I wasn t sure what the novelization would be like, as like a lot of Disney Pixar novelizations, there are whole scenes missing where the characters have burst into song I was pleasantly surprised by the novelization, as it wasn t obvious that there were scenes missing severely trimmed down, and the author Angela Cervantes has done a great job of making the book flow seamlessly It s a nice quick read, although I m a bit unsure of the 7 10 age range thatlists, considering the dark undertone that is running through this film Although children are a lotresilient to death and stuff, I would maybe try reading or watching it with your child first I am still thinking about the film and its messages days later Although, saying that, I had probably read all of the Narnia books by the age of 10 and particularly the last book, The Last Battle, deals a lot with death and the afterlife I read the majority of this while in a dentist waiting room It s slightly longer than some of other junior Disney novelizations as it s 137 pages, with the standard 8 pages of colour photographs I did find perhaps the last third of the book quite rushed, and it came across a lotslower paced in a good way in the film It seemed almost like the author had been told that she had to finish the book by a certain page number amount of words I would definitely recommend this for your novelization collection or for reading with your kids after watching the film Just prepare for some awkward questions to be asked I really loved the book It was so sweet and I can t wait to see the movie Miguel learned that nothing isimportant than family I can definitely relate to the Rivera family because I am Mexican American Dia del Los Muertos is a day to spend with family and remember all the loved ones that have passed away Disney has definitely stepped up their game in regards to beingdiverse with the movies and characters that they produce I love all the Disney Pixar movies but Coco is a movie bo I really loved the book It was so sweet and
