second half, the appeal of Yoichi Hiruma to the public was just another diversion, and the play starts with Ryokan Kurita passing to Sena Kobayakawa instead of the expected Yoichi Hiruma However, Sena Kobayakawa s run is also a diversion and he passes again to Yoichi Hiruma, who scores a touchdown. As the time is out, the Devil Bats can only complete their conversion attempt It seems Yoichi Hiruma is going to run but he passes the ball to Sena Kobayakawa who completes the conversion thanks to Ryokan Kurita and his strength that put Shinryujii Naga at bay The Deimon Devil Bats win by one point with the score of 36 35.This tank bon is written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata For the most part, I really liked how the story is progressing It may be a tad excessive to have most of a tank bon on only four seconds, but it was rather intense Their next opponent in the tournament is revealed as the Ojo White Knights a team they played before and lost. All in all, Eyeshield 21 Then Came the Showdownis a wonderful continuation to a new series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read 4.5stars Yay So it s the end of the Shinryuuji game and the Devilbats have to play it safe But since the longer these guys play and try to hold their own against genius Agon Kongo, the higher their chances of folding because they don t have the stamina and they re all worn out It s really interesting that Hiruma would of course have chosen to gamble and Kurita would have chosen the safer move, but they decide to put it on Sena What I really particularly love about this volume is Agon getting his butt handed to him because Deimon didn t underestimate him, knew what he was capable of, and strove to use his assumptions against him Hiruma actually managed to outrun him with the surprise lead he tricked Shinryuuji into giving him , and they managed to sort of combine a safe move with a gamble that could turn into either based on what the defense did I love seeing Agon claiming his dream team is a whole team of himself, and how Hiruma knows that would be easy to beat and proves it Agon isn t just a humiliated opponent, though He s spoiled because he s used to effortless ability outclassing everyone he has to fight, and he didn t bank on others training beyond him or believe he would get anything out of pushing himself to be .After the Devilbats are looking to the next step on their way to the Christmas Bowl, they get to watch the other teams do their thing They see their old opponents the Taiyo Sphinx from Kantou having to fight the Hakushu Dinosaurs, and even spend some time building up these guys back stories Of course we already know the backgrounds of Harao the weak and spoiled quarterback protected by his awesome line , Banba, Kasamatsu, and Kamaguruma, but now we get to see the Dinosaurs in action, most notably the monstrous freshman Gao And he s not just an unhinged ball of destruction anything like Ikari, you know he is smashing and destroying the other teams deliberately, to the point that their quarterbacks are injured beyond ability to play That s kind of Harao s nightmare He s nothing if his line gets destroyed, and getting tackled by Gao doesn t just mean a sack it means you go to the hospital So, Hiruma gets a nice preview of what he s facing if the Christmas Bowl is next for Deimon He ll be targeted and probably crushed But they have to beat Oujou first Easier said than done.I love how even the teams that are basically put there to lose topowerful teams are given some background The Misaki Wolves rely on speed but don t really have the necessary strength to get past Seibu I thought it was funny how Seibu and Oujou were already talking like they were going to be in the semifinals even though they both had to beat another team first, Kamiya kept getting pissed that the Wolves were being written off before they got to play Also, this manga frequently tries to give people names that are a play on words, so I thought it was weird for the quarterback s first name to be Taiga A tiger is a cat, not a dog, which is not exactly appropriate for a wolf based team The Sado Strong Golems are all about having rock hard bodies, but that doesn t hold up too well against someone like Shin whose spear tackle turned trident tackle can pierce stone Though I was not a big fan of the heteronormative nonsense handed down to the Golems about how to aim for the chest because all men like boobs but later but real men don t like EACH OTHER S boobs Shin being straightforward and honest about improving himself and asking Riku to teach him his signature move was pretty awesome Now Deimon has to figure out how to fight a vastly improved Oujou when they ve already lost once to this team The Deimon Devilbats, a plucky upstart high school football team, have managed to reach the semifinals of the tournament through a combination of hard work and talent, but now they re in the last few seconds of the game against the Shinryuuji Nagas, who have an undefeated history Cocky Agon Kongo is the genius of the opposing team, and Deimon has to pull out every trick and gamble to beat him Good thing team and switching the team s playing positions to throw off the defense, Hiruma s team has reached 34 points to Shinryuuji s 35, and has to choose whether to kick for a tie and go into overtime or gamble to get two points in another touchdown Deimon s style has always been overwhelming offense, so the gamble is the likely option, but what about Sena, the star running back whose legs aren t holding up like they should And since beating Shinryuuji will just throw them up against their old rivals the Oujou White Knights, do the Devilbats have a hope in Hell of reaching the Christmas Bowl As always, I love the mix of sports action and character building There are old rivalries to settle with some unable to come to fruition because the teams won t get to play each other and each character has their standby character traits and the ones they grow from Hiruma s tricks are always a treat, and no matter how many times he distracts the other team and surprises you by showing he does not, in fact, have the ball or is not, in fact, planning to pass, the reveal always makes you laugh and shake your head at the chutzpah this guy has Even the teams that are groomed for getting trounced by other teams the Sado Strong Golems, the Misaki Wolves have their realistic back stories and motivation It s wonderful to see Agon Kongo s smirking confidence turn to disbelief and horror when he learns he s not unbeatable just because he s a genius, and I really enjoy Shin being honest about wanting to learn other team aces moves and how they respond to his honorable requests After the wackiest two minute drill ever in which Monta receives a Jerry Rice Superbowl winning catch to stop the clock with enough time to run an extra desperation play The final two point conversion play and rivalryThat s where things sort of take a dive The next game ends up being the Sphinx against the Dinosaur team something I was eager to see when the bracket was drawn up about 3 volumes ago The Bando game starts well enough with the defensive Sphinx using a Pharaoh line formation to reduce the gap of their line to block the run Cool football stuff It suddenly turns into a loser forfeit though on behalf of the Sphinx They don t even finish the game, how stupid is that The next two games end up being the Gunmen against the Wolves, and the White Knights against the Golem are barely two pages long each This is a major let down to me, as one of my favorite thing about this series has been how interesting and developed the opposing football teams are The other thing about this hasty first round is it makes me nervous when I look at where I m at vol 23 when I realize I have about 14volumes of the series to go When they blew by the first round like this I wonder what else this series could be I hope it isn t just these last two games and the build up between the two. This volume gets a major low score simply because it seemed to summarize and steamroll over what I thought was going to be the next 3 volumes of games I was really interested in seeingfrom that aspect of the tournament because some of those teams the Golems and the Wolves looked really awesome All thereason to watch the anime I guess I bet you those pad out the episode count withdetailed games than the manga versions are Bleh 2 stars ending dari pertandingan antara deimon dan shinryuji ini keren banget kehebatan siasat Hiruma lagi lagi terbukti, bahkan penontonpun dijadikan bagian dari siasatnya.bagian Hiruma mengalahkan Agon juga keren banget Hiruma bukanlah jenius seperti agon, tapi satu keunggulan dia adalah, dia mencapai posisinya sekarang dengan kerja keras I love the end of this game It s one of the most memorable moments of the serie to me I also love the shippy moment later in the book, particularly the small bet yes it s like three pages but I work with what I have here There are still some games left, and I m not sure if my heart can take any intensity This manga is just incredible. I hate Agon That is all.
