This was a good read but with Matt Wagner and Simon Bisley I would expect no less Great supernatural adventure with an interesting protagonist This story deals with a supernatural bounty hunter and while the tropes may not be the most original the book does put a new spin on familiar ideasBisley's art is a little subdued then what I usually see from him but in a way it comes across much polished The color and paper are high uality which really accentuated the art in a positive wayOverall a good read and one I'm glad I picked up but sadly I don't think we'll ever get the full story because I doubt it will all ever be published Still worth checking out if you're a Wagner or Bisley fan I have had this graphic novel on my to be read shelf for uite a while and was excited to finally get around to reading it I was drawn to the colorful artwork and the interesting premise This ended up being okay but not great As mentioned I enjoyed the deep and vibrant colors in the artwork; however the artwork itself was a bit lacking A lot of the characters are overly muscular and shiny looking There were also many scenes where characters just didn’t look in perspective or were distorted Given that I wasn’t a huge fan of the artwork The style was very inconsistent as well; some scenes the people were very realistic and some very cartoonyit was oddThe premise sounded interesting but also ended up being very cliche’ Tower is older than he looks and has claimed a vendetta against all things dark because of a mysterious past that involves the loss of a loved one All very typical dark urban fantasy here; nothing all that interesting and creative It was okay but nothing spectacularI felt the same way about the the story and dialogue; it was okay but not great The dialogue doesn’t flow all that well and scenes come off sounding either very over the top or just awkward Overall everything about this was just okay and I wasn’t super excited to read any about John Tower by the end The premise is interesting and I did enjoy the color palette of the drawings however everything else was just a bit off for me This is one of those graphic novels that held a lot of promise and could have been something epic but fell flat The Tower Chronicles story isn't as pretentious as you would think being in the supernaturalhorror genre Matt Wagner has laid out some impressive story skills hidden within the pages just waiting to leap out while Simon Bisley really puts in the added touches on his artwork Biz has a way of being sloppy sometimes ie Fistful of Blood Together they really pulled of a very dark and intelligent story while keeping it entertaining Sometimes it's difficult keeping up with who is who within the story Since the story arcs over several centuries it can be difficult to follow where Wagner is taking us but it eventually comes together and makes sense O formato é uadradão nada muito inventivo nesse aspecto mas gosto dos personagens em dos 'monstros' sobrenaturais Consegue pegar o lugar comum vampiros demônios e dar uma cara diferente mostrá lo como bad guys Esse book one reúne 4 Hs do Tower e tem 286 páginas Not recommended at all The artwork is bad So bad in fact that it distracts from what might otherwise be a fun if trite little supernatural adventure story
