I think that it was full of great educational content However, I personally got extremely bored during it, and I know that if I did children would too. I love books on any level about wolves, but this book is just ok The pictures are beautiful and the facts are interesting but there just isn t the continuity I would expect from a Scholastic Science Reader Children on this level needof a story line to hold their interest The little one that I was reading to wasinterested in putting her feet on the pages On page 14 the author jumps from pack life and the characteristics of wolves to the Alaskan tundra Actually pages 12 and 13 I love books on any level about wolves, but this book is just ok The pictures are beautiful and the facts are interesting but there just isn t the continuity I would expect from a Scholastic Science Reader Children on this level needof a story line to hold their interest The little one that I was reading to wasinterested in putting her feet on the pages On page 14 the author jumps from pack life and the characteristics of wolves to the Alaskan tundra Actually pages 12 and 13 don t fit either From here on the book is just a grouping of what seems like random facts Ugh There is a reason why we haven t used many of these books in our home school This book contains a plethora of information about wolves, their habitat, habits, and how we as humans play a role in their lives Throughout the book, certain words are bold and are connected to a glossary in the back of the book This resource is useful for children who are unsure of words related specifically to wolves Additionally, this book can be used for students to do a research project about the magnificent animals and how they interact with their environment.
